Axis Bank statement to Excel
Axis Bank statements open with an opening balance line and close with transaction totals and a closing balance, which gives us three separate ways to check the numbers. Convert your Axis PDF here and see straight away whether every row adds up.

Private by design: your PDF is read by your own browser. It is never uploaded, and nothing is stored on a server. The password, if you type one, is used once to open the file and then forgotten.

Always compare the converted file with your original statement before using it for tax filing, loans or audits. The converted file is not an official bank document.
How to download your Axis Bank statement
Axis Bank's own articles describe getting a detailed statement through internet banking.
- Sign in to Axis Bank internet banking from the official website.
- Go to Accounts and choose View Detailed Statement.
- Select the account and the period you need.
- Click Get Statement, then download it.
Axis also has a page about e-statements and their downloads. Keep the downloaded PDF unchanged; the converter reads it as it is.
How we read an Axis Bank statement
An Axis Bank account statement typically has these columns. The branch code column is skipped.
| Column in the PDF | Column in your spreadsheet |
|---|---|
| Tran Date | Date |
| Chq No | Reference |
| Particulars | Description |
| Debit | Debit |
| Credit | Credit |
| Balance | Balance |
| Init. Br | (not exported) |
- Dates are written day first with dashes, such as 01-07-2026.
- The "OPENING BALANCE" line is the starting point of the balance check.
- A "TRANSACTION TOTAL" line is compared with the sum of your debits and credits, and "CLOSING BALANCE" with the last balance.
- The Init. Br column holds a branch code that looks like a number; it is recognised by position and never mistaken for an amount.
Common problems
A row says "Balance off by" an amount
The printed balance on that row does not equal the previous balance plus credits minus debits. Look at that line in the PDF: if the PDF itself is inconsistent, contact the bank; if a value was misread, tell us which layout you used.
A row says Debit and Credit looked swapped
The balance only works if that amount sits in the other column. We fix it in the export and say so in the Check column, so you can confirm it against the PDF.
The Init. Br numbers ended up in my spreadsheet
They shouldn't. If they do, choose "Axis Bank" under Bank layout so the Axis hints are used, and check that the PDF is the statement itself, not a screenshot saved as PDF.
The confidence badge says Medium
Medium means most rows passed but something needs a look, such as a swapped pair or one failing row. The reasons are listed under the badge.
FAQ
Why are there three checks for Axis statements?
Because the PDF prints an opening balance, transaction totals and a closing balance. Each one is compared with the extracted rows.
Can I convert an Axis statement on my phone?
Yes. The file picker works on Android and iPhone, and the PDF stays on the phone.
Does StatementKit change the amounts?
Only in one case: when a debit and credit are clearly swapped, and then the export says so on that row.
StatementKit is not affiliated with or endorsed by Axis Bank. Bank names are used only to describe compatibility.
